MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (August 6, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, August 2, at 2:22am, TFC M. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop on a green Subaru passenger vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, TFC Pitcher was able to positively identify the operator as John Robert Weitz, 46, of Baltimore. After speaking with Mr. Weitz, TFC Pitcher conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and as a result Mr. Weitz was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Weitz was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for processing. Once at the barrack, TFC Pitcher conducted a secondary search of Mr. Weitz, which resulted in the recovery of both CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. He was processed and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, August 2, at 9:56pm, Tpr. W. Couter responded to the 48000 block of Mayflower Drive, in Lexington Park, for a reported assault. Upon arrival, Tpr. Couter was not able to make contact with anyone at the residence. A relative who was at the scene was able to provide a contact number for the male involved. Tpr. Couter made contact with the male victim, 29, of Lexington Park on Three Notch Road, north of Lincoln Avenue. While on scene with the victim, Tpr. Couter noticed injuries. As he was talking to the victim, suspect Sarah Chigozie Asomugha, 27, of Lexington Park, called the victim's cell phone. Tpr. Couter was able to talk to her and asked her to pull over and wait to be contacted. After making contact with Ms. Asomugha, she advised that she was the one who made the injuries on to the victim. She was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, August 2, at 10:21pm, TFC B. Wiesemann conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram truck on Colton Point Road, in the area of Sugarhole Road in Clements for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, TFC Wiesemann was able to positively identify the operator as Scott Nelson Clark, 18, of Callaway. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted due to the statement provided by Mr. Nelson, resulting in both CDS and CDS Paraphernalia being recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Nelson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On Friday, August 3, at 2:09pm, TFC B. Wiesemann responded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack located at 23200 Leonard Hall Drive, in Leonardtown for a reported Violation of a Protect Order. Upon arriving at the barrack, TFC Wiesemann made contact with the complainant, 26, of Hollywood, who stated she had received several emails from, Cassidy Frank Ellison Bean, 28, of Hollywood. TFC Wiesemann contacted St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, who was able to confirm the protective order and provide a copy. After reading the protective order, TFC Wiesemann responded to 23000 block of Mervell Dean Road and contacted Mr. Bean. He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Friday, August 3, at 6:25pm, TFC E. Evans responded to Food Lion, located on Merchant's Lane, in Leonardtown for a reported theft. Upon arrival, TFC Evans made contact with the complainant, 54, of Hollywood, who was a store employee. The complainant stated she observed a female putting candy in her purse. After she exited all points of sale, the complainant confronted the female and had her wait in the manager's office while she contacted the police. TFC Evans was able to positively identify the female, 14, of Leonardtown, who admitted to the theft. She was charged accordingly and released from Food Lion to her father with further action pending by juvenile services.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, August 3, at 11:12pm, Tpr. W. Couter served a Bench Warrant (T3-15617) on Wade Joshua Braithwaite, 18, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on July 27. Mr. Braithwaite was located on a traffic stop and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, August 4, at 7:15am, TFC. M. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-15605) on Daniel Brian Evans, 26, of Piney Point. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on July 19. Mr. Evans was located in Tall Timbers and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
