St. Mary's Receives $70K FAA Grant to Extend Runway at Airport


CALIFORNIA, Md.—St. Mary's County has received a $70,702 Federal Aviation Administration grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) to acquire land to extend a runway at the St. Mary's Regional Airport in California.

The grant will allow the airport, which is operated by the St. Mary's County Board of County Commissioners, to buy more land to extend the approach for runway 29.

The Airport also has a helipad, which is used by the Maryland State Police.
