MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (October 22, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On 10/16/2012 at 8:41 pm, Trooper S. Lewis responded to the Super 8 Motel in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. During an event at the motel, patrons were in line to sign up. A blue bank bag containing approximately $950 was lying on the registration table. A white male, wearing a black hooded jacket with brown fur around the hood, approached the line and grabbed the bag from the table and fled the motel. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'-11" tall, with a thin build. Troopers and Deputies from the Calvert Investigative Team responded to assume the investigation. THEFT: On 10/17/2012 at 1:47 pm, Trooper Matthews responded to the 13900 block of Solomons Island Rd. in Solomons for a reported theft. Prescription medication was removed from the victim's purse. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 10/19/2012 at 3:23 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 11500 block of HG Trueman Rd. in Lusby. An odor of marijuana was emitting from the inside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Steven O. Harrod, 25 of Lusby, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY, POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On 10/19/2012 at 11:44 pm, Trooper First Class Williams responded to the 11500 block of Sidewinder Lane in Lusby for a suspicious vehicle parked at an abandoned house. Investigation revealed that the registration plates displayed on the vehicle were reported stolen. Troopers discovered Sonya R. Mitchell, 33 of Lusby, and Charles P. Browne, 29 of Columbia, SC, inside the home using drugs. Hypodermic syringes and Percocet pills were located. They were charged with burglary, possession of Percocet, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 10/21/2012 at 1:21 am, Trooper Oles stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 north of Broomes Island Rd. in Prince Frederick. During the traffic stop, the driver threw an object out of the window. The item was found to be a plastic baggie of Marijuana. The driver, Tyreise D. Nelson, 19 of Lexington Park, was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. Nelson was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On 10/21/2012 at 11:41 pm, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 at MF Bowen Rd. in Prince Frederick. The driver, Jeremy R. Dudley, 26 of Lusby, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver's license. A set of brass knuckles were also located in the driver's possession. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
