St. Mary's Co. Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 13, 2014)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On May 6, Deputy Lance responded to a residence in the 13000 block of Point Lookout Road in Ridge, for a reported assault. The victim alleged suspect Marcus Donar Hatzel, 48, of Ridge, pushed the victim with his hands causing the victim to fall to the ground. Deputy Lance observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim. Hatzel was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

ASSAULT: On May 7, Deputy First Class Watters responded to a residence in the 27000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville, for a reported assault. The victim alleged suspect Brandon Scott Tippett, 22, of Mechanicsville, struck the victim in the face as the victim tried to leave the residence. DFC Watters observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim. Tippett was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

VIOLATION PEACE ORDER: On May 6, Deputy Teague responded to a residence on Piper Court in Lexington Park, for a violation of a peace order. The investigation revealed, suspect Cassidy Frank-Ellison Bean, 30, of no fixed address, called the victim 3 times from the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he is currently incarcerated. Bean called the victim in violation of an active peace order. Bean was charged with 3 counts Violation of Peace Order.

DUI/WEAPONS VIOLATION: On May 9, Deputy Pontorno responded to White Point Road in Leonardtown, for a single vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle identified as Robert Thomas Smothers, 39, of Leonardtown, displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol. Prior to performing standardized field sobriety tests, Deputy Pontorno completed a pat down of Smothers for weapons. During the pat down, Deputy Pontorno located a metal object he determined to be metal knuckles. Smothers subsequently failed to complete standardized field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Concealed Weapon violation and DUI.

ASSAULT: On May 10, Corporal White responded to a residence on Coronet Place in Lexington Park, for a reported assault. The victim alleged suspect William Cade Dunlap, 38, of Lexington Park, grabbed and pushed the victim. Corporal White observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim. Dunlap was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

WANTED: Crystal Faith Rupprecht: The Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating CRYSTAL FAITH RUPPRECHT, age 25, of Lexington Park, pictured above. The Sheriff's Office has multiple arrest warrants for Rupprecht for theft.
