Charles Co. Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Feb. 25, 2015)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

AGENCY INVOLVED SHOOTING: On Feb. 24 at 11:21 p.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Azalea Place in Waldorf after a woman called 911 and reported a domestic situation in which a male in her residence was armed with a gun and threatening her. Officers arrived on the scene and ordered the man out of the house. When the man walked out to the front porch, he was armed with a handgun. At some point one of the officers, fearing for his life, discharged his firearm at the armed man. The suspect was hit and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was admitted and is being treated. A gun was recovered on the scene. At this time detectives assigned to the CCSO Criminal Investigations Division are conducting an investigation. Sheriff Troy Berry responded to the scene. There are no additional details at this time.

MEMBERS OF WARRANT/FUGITIVE UNIT AND CHILD SUPPORT UNIT LOCATE FUGITIVE: On Feb. 18 at 9:45 a.m., members of the CCSO Warrant/Fugitive Unit and the Child Support Unit located Bushraa Sudani Perry, 24, of Indian Head who was wanted in connection with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute drugs, violation of probation relating to a drug charge, and non-support of a child. Perry was located at a hotel in another county. He initially provided a false name, but officers recognized him from previous contact and confirmed his true identity. Perry was transported to the Charles County Detention Center where he is being detained.

DRUG ARREST: On February 18, members of the CCSO Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at a house in Indian Head where they recovered $6,000 worth of illegal prescription pills, marijuana, and distribution paraphernalia. A 39-year-old woman was charged with distribution of drugs. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY: On Feb. 16 at 1:06 p.m., a witness observed two males leaving a house in the 300 block of University Drive in Waldorf. The subjects were carrying two shotguns. The witness observed the door to the house had been kicked in. Officers searched the house and canvassed the neighborhood. Officer R. Logsdon is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Feb. 14 between 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 5400 block of Harvest Fish Place and stole electronics. PFC E. Baker is investigating.

THEFT: Sometime between Feb. 10 to Feb. 13, unknown suspect(s) stole a generator from a house in the 3800 block of Kahler Road in White Plains. PFC D. Warker is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Feb. 23 at 5:17 p.m., officers responded to the 14300 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) entered a house and stole several items including clothing and a handgun. Officer G. Cook is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Feb. 23 at 3:19 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Forest View Drive in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) broke into a house, which was vacant at the time, and stole several items. Officer G. Cook is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 6100 block of Lands End Court in Bryans Road and stole jewelry and other items. Investigation revealed the suspect(s) broke a window in the basement to get inside. Officer M. O’Shields is investigating.
