Prostitution Sting Nets Nine Arrests


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 8, 2015)—Police in St. Mary's County arrested nine people on prostitution-related charges last Friday and Saturday.

Police say detectives from the Vice/Narcotics division of the sheriff's office were "monitoring the internet" and began communicating with both suspected prostitutes and so-called "Johns." As a result, the following individuals arrived, had contact with an undercover officer, exchanged money for sex and were arrested for violations related to prostitution.

-- DeAndre Timothy Pickeral, age 25 of Lusby, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- Robert Walter Lada, age 24 of California, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/5/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- Thomas Doc Dougherty, age 35 of Mechanicsville, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- David Jeffrey Williams, age 55 of Mechanicsville, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- Charles Ronald Owens, age 30 of Leonardtown, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- Anthony Lawrence Woody, Jr., age 45 of Waldorf, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306;

-- Christine Denine Ford, age 38 of Temple Hills, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/5/2015 under statute CR.11.306; and

-- Hannah Louise Poage, a/k/a Hannah Waters, age 23 of Towson, arrested by S. Lefave on 6/6/2015 under statute CR.11.306.

The sheriff's office last conducted an internet-based prostitution sting in December of 2014. Sixteen males and females—including a sixteen year-old girl—were arrested during that operation. ( See http://somd.com/news/headlines/2014/18892.shtml )
