LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 19, 2016)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On February 8, at 3:38 pm, Tpr. T. Holson responded to the 25000 block of Sotterly Road for a reported burglary. Investigation revealed that a side door window had been broken and a laptop had been stolen. The victims found a debit card lying on the living room floor belonging to Kyle Javiel Diaz, 24, of Lexington Park. A security camera at a nearby convenience store captured a suspect carrying the laptop, who was positively identified by the victims as Mr. Diaz. Tpr. Holson, Cpl. Murphy, and TFC Regina responded to Mr. Diaz's residence to question the suspect. Mr. Diaz admitted to stealing the laptop, and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for questioning, and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Burglary First Degree, Theft $1,000 to $10,000, and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1000. (16-MSP-005188)

ASSAULT: On February 8, at 4:25 pm, Tpr. M. Johnson responded to the 21000 block of Liberty Street for a reported disturbance. Investigation revealed that Sydney Elise Johnson, 20, of Lexington Park, had assaulted a male victim. Ms. Johnson was placed under arrest for Assault Second Degree and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. THEFT: On February 10, at 2:43 pm, Tpr. Geyer responded to the Wal-Mart for a reported trespassing and theft. Investigation revealed that James Frederick Sheehan, 59, of Lexington Park, had been observed placing items into his backpack and passed all points of sale. Wal-Mart has an active Notice Not To Trespass Order in place against the suspect from a prior incident on January 7. Mr. Sheehan was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Theft Less Than $100 and Trespass: Private Property. Mr. Sheehan was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (16-MSP-005431)

ASSAULT: On February 11, at 1:32 am, Tpr. D. Coppedge responded to the 43000 block of Lifelong Landing Lane for a reported assault. Investigation revealed that James Alton Abell, Jr., 18, of Hollywood had assaulted a male victim. Mr. Abell was placed under arrest for Assault Second Degree and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. ASSAULT: On February 13, at 2:44 am, Tpr. M. Johnson responded to the 20000 block of Hermanville Road for a reported assault. Investigation revealed that Joseph Patrick Messineo, 52, of Lexington Park, had assaulted a female victim. Mr. Messineo was placed under arrest for Assault Second Degree and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. THEFT: On February 14, at 8:15 pm, Tpr. Geyer responded to the Wal-Mart for a reported theft. Investigation revealed that April Lynn Stewart, 41, of Lusby, had been observed placing items into her purse and passed all points of sale. Ms. Stewart was charged with Theft Less Than $100.00 and released on a criminal citation. (16-MSP-006032)
