Arson Suspected in Waldorf Garage Fire


WALDORF, Md. (March 7, 2016)—Arson is the suspected cause of a fire at 2575 Old Washington Road in Waldorf early this morning. Investigators say unknown suspect(s) ignited combustible materials within the detached garage of the vacant house.

The fire was discovered by a passer-by around 12:12 a.m.

The one-alarm fire involved 40 firefighters from Waldorf VFD and took approximately 10 minutes to control.

Damages are estimated at $10,000.

There were no injuries or deaths.
