Thomas (Tommy) Edwin Reamy, 73, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on November 25, 2019 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. He was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Tommy was born on April 18, 1946 in Washington, DC and raised in Brentwood, MD to the late Chester Edwin Reamy and the late Betty Lou (O'Neill) Reamy.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances L. (Mills) Reamy; daughters Dawn Reamy, Jacqueline King (Wayne), Jennifer Bean (John Boy), Shellia Soderstrom (Derek); grandchildren Mathew King (Christi), Emma King, Rachel King, Sarah Bean, Tyler Soderstrom, and Jenna Soderstrom; great grandchildren Peyton King and Arabella Pinkney. He is also survived by his brothers John A. Reamy and William J. Reamy (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tommy proudly served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966 where he received the Vietnam Service Medal for serving in the war. Tommy spent his life working hard and supporting his family. At age 16, he started volunteering at Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department which led him to become a career firefighter with the Prince George's County Fire Department and enjoyed an 18-year career with him retiring in 1985. After retiring from the fire department, he was employed with the St. Mary's County Public Schools Transportation Department for over 15 years driving for field trips, sporting events and other extra-curricular activities. He was also a bus driver for the St. Mary's Transit System for 11-years. Throughout the years he coached girls' softball teams, was a member and past president of the Mechanicsville Optimist Club, and a member of the American Legion. During the years his daughter's attended school, he served as a volunteer for Chopticon High School Athletic and Band Boosters.

Tommy was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who loved his family above all else. His world revolved around his family and spending time with them brought him great joy.

Family will receive friends on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Tommy's Visitation, with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 with Pastor Rick Gaither officiating. Interment with military honors will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623. Pallbearers are Wayne King, John Bean, Derek Soderstrom, Mathew King, Joseph Pinkney, and Charles Baker.
