Everett Eugene "Tommy" Thompson 66 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020 in the arms of his loving wife of 43 years, Genevieve Thompson whom he married on September 4, 1976.

Tommy was born in Grandby, MO on November 19, 1953. He was raised in Maryland by his father, the late Edward Thompson and step mother, Doris Thompson. Tommy served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting when he was just 17 years old. Upon his honorable discharge, he began a career as a plumber. In June of 2005 he founded Thompson's Plumbing Inc. He proudly shared his knowledge and experience while teaching each of his sons the trade when they all decided to follow in his footsteps.

Tommy was the epitome of a family man with a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He devoted his life to spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Tommy enjoyed putting together puzzles, watching golf, NASCAR, and football. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins (and his hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs). Of all his favorite sports, he most enjoyed attending his granddaughter's softball games, where he was her biggest fan.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Genevieve Thompson, sons: Curtis Thompson (Melissa), Brian Thompson (Melinda), Kevin Thompson; daughter, Jennilee Hancock (James); grandchildren: Bryce, Breanna, Owen, Chloe, Hollie, Abby, Madison and Mason; step mother, Doris Thompson; brother, Rory Thompson, sisters, Brenda Roper (Dave) and Kim Andrews; a host of brother and sister in laws; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
