Joseph Louis Knott, Jr "Joey" of Compton, MD passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, in Clinton, MD. He was born on October 2, 1954, to Joseph Knott, Sr and Maude Knott (Tippett) of Compton.

Joey is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, whom he married in 1981. He is also survived by his daughter, Tina Yakel (Dan); grandchildren, Braden Yakel, Caitlyn Bradburn, and Jenna Bradburn; daughter-in-law, Jill Bradburn; all living in Compton, MD, and sister, Janet Williams (Danny) of Lexington Park, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Chip and Chris Bradburn; grandsons, Jeremy Yakel and Justin Hourigan, sister, Nancy George, and sister-in-law, Joan Joy.

Joey was a lifelong resident of Compton. After graduating from Chopticon High School in 1972, he worked as a civil servant carpenter at Patuxent River NAS and Indian Head NSF before retiring in 2005. After retiring, he kept busy hunting, fishing, doing yard work, and working in his garage. Joey loved everything about the outdoors. His perfect day would be spent in a deer stand or on his boat with friends and family. He also enjoyed cruising around in his golf cart and visiting neighbors.

There will be a graveside service at Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD on November 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM followed by a reception.
