Charles R. Busey, Sr., 82, fondly known as Bucky, passed away peacefully February 14, 2024 in the care of Stella Maris Hospice.

He was born October 7, 1941 in Washington, D.C. He was the son of Mary Gass Wood and had two siblings, James Wood and Deloris Thorne. Bucky joined the Navy his junior year of high school and received his GED while enlisted. He served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years before being honorably discharged. Bucky returned home and started his career with Auth Brothers Meat Co. where he worked for 40 years before his retirement. Bucky married Deborah Busey April 10, 1981. Bucky had a heart of gold, always worked harder than everyone else, and had a tremendous talent to lead others.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Busey of Hughesville, Md.; children, Charles R. Busey, Jr., Brian Roberts, and Kelly R. Archer; grandchildren, Kyle Busey, Star Busey, Lauren Archer, Harris Archer, James "Parker" R. Archer, Matthew Bates, Sydney Bates and extended family and friends.

Burial will take place at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland in the near future.
