![]() Wilmer Clarence Harris, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 72.
Born on April 12, 1953, to the late Wilmer Clarence Harris, Sr. and Eudora Williams Harris, Wilmer was a man of quiet strength, deep devotion, and unwavering love for his family and home. Though private by nature, his presence was a constant and comforting force to those fortunate enough to know him well. Wilmer married the love of his life, Debra Harris, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, joy, and purpose. Together, they raised a son, Wilmer Clarence Harris III, and took great pride in their family's legacy. Wilmer was especially proud of his grandson, Milo Harris, whose laughter and curiosity brought endless light to his later years. A true entrepreneur, Wilmer and Debra were successful business owners, founding and operating the beloved Dash-In Convenience Store and a pioneering food delivery service called Food Scooter—a venture that was ahead of its time, foreshadowing the likes of DoorDash and Grubhub. Wilmer was also known for his unmatched work ethic. He was a tireless worker who dedicated himself fully to his businesses and responsibilities, often working seven days a week. His determination and drive were central to everything he built and accomplished in his lifetime. Beyond his business ventures, Wilmer was known as "the ultimate collector." His keen eye and passion for collecting knew no bounds, with his collections ranging from rare coins and classic cars to Pokémon cards—each piece telling a story and reflecting a lifetime of curiosity and care. Wilmer's life was defined not by fanfare, but by quiet dedication—to his work, his passions, and most of all, to his family.
