August 14, 1946 - August 28, 2025 Michael Archie Moore, 79, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Washington, D.C. on August 14, 1946, Michael dedicated his life to education and community service. He earned his master's degree and served as a devoted teacher with Prince George's County Public Schools, shaping the lives of countless students over his career. Michael was a man of faith and an active member of Christ Church in Chaptico. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as past president of the 4th District Optimist Club, a member of the Leonard Hall Board of Education, and a supporter of the Prince George's County A.R.C. Known for his kind heart, strong principles, and sense of humor, Michael lived his life as a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Moore, and their son: Edward Eugene Moore (Haley), his children from his first marriage are Michael Archie Moore Jr., Kelly S. Waynnick and Kevin Moore (Maria). Michael was blessed with nine grandchildren who brought great joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Kim Bessler and son-in-law John Cliff. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Chrissy Cliff and his sister Suzanne Seminar. Michael will be remembered for his generosity, his steadfast faith, and the way he always put family first. His legacy will live on in the love he shared and the countless lives he touched. Family invites friends for a visitation on Friday September 5, 2025, from 9:30am to 10:30am at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Rd, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650, followed by a Funeral Service at Christ Episcopal Church, 25390 Maddox Road, Chaptico, MD 20621, starting at 11am. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Michael's memory to the Tri- County Animal Shelter, 6707 Animal Shelter Rd, Hughesville, MD 20637.
