John Franklin Rodrigues

John Franklin Rodrigues, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. He was born on May 5, 1945, in New York, to Francisco Rodrigues and Luisa Merida Parrinello, who preceded him in death.

John proudly earned his GED and served for a time in the United States Marine Corps, reflecting his sense of duty and commitment. After his military service, he worked as a Safeway Manager where he was known for his hard work ethic and leadership skills. John then worked as a U.S. Capital Police officer up until he later worked as a bus driver for St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS), where he was known for his dedication and care for the children he transported.

He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed gospel music and oldies, and had a special love for snow, appreciating its quiet beauty and peacefulness. On November 21, 1992, John married the love of his life, Cheryl Mae Rodrigues, and they shared many years of companionship and devotion.

John is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Mae Rodrigues; his children, Karen Stroud, John Rodrigues, David Stroud (Brenda), Brian Rodrigues (Ayla), Charlotte Stroud, Kimberly Law (Joshua), and Frank Rodrigues; his siblings, Frank Jose Rodrigues and Amelia Godissart; as well as 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Darlene Rodrigues; sister, Alicia Martin (Eugene); and his niece, Mya.
